About Emma

Emma Ballantine is a singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from Salisbury and now based in North London. Shimmering guitar and shape-shifting vocals are the tools of her trade, taking inspiration from the likes of Kate Bush, Florence and the Machine and Laura Marling. An established and popular artist on the UK and European live scenes, Emma's melodic lines and insistent hooks have picked up support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and a range of local radio stations, with Resonance FM describing her as 'a unique voice among modern songwriters'. Emma's new EP, Tourist, recorded at Monnow Valley Studio with producer Peter Waterman, was released on 24th July 2015 on her own Shut Up Jo label. It went to no. 15 in the iTunes charts on release and the lead track, The Love I Seek was featured as Q Magazine's Track of the Day.
